The Shoreham Village Association (TSVA) TSVA was formed in 1983 with a mission “to plan, promote, finance, coordinate and execute programs in the Incorporated Village of Shoreham aimed at improving and beautifying the appearance of the Village, thereby improving the quality of life of all its residents.”
Not-for-profit (501(c)(3)) status was obtained in 1985. Over the years the scope of our activities has grown, and our mission now is “to maintain and improve the quality of life of its residents through educational and cultural programs, communication and initiatives that benefit the appearance of the Village as well as the health of its residents and the environment.” We have 5 standing committees and form temporary and/or new ones as needs and ideas come up (for example, annual meeting organization, nominations for slate of officers, development of standard operating procedures, updating TSVA’s constitution, etc.). The standing committees are Welcome, Events, Sunshine, Communications, and Environmental. You can read more about them under their separate headings on the drop-down menu for committees on our home banner.
Throughout the years we have completed many projects to fulfill our mission and have more in progress and in planning stages (click on our “Projects” menu to see them). Ideas are proposed by our 11 Board members, the Mayor, Village Commissioners, and interested Village Residents. We mail out a newsletter and hold an annual meeting each Fall where we give a report of the year’s accomplishments and elect executive officers for the upcoming year. Our Communications Committee sends out other electronic mail and notices throughout the year and sometimes acts as a conduit for information from other Village organizations. All residents of the Village are automatically members of TSVA unless they opt out. We rely on donations and volunteers to accomplish our goals and warmly welcome your support.
